Data Backup and Prerequisites

Data Backup

Importing and manipulating data may put your systems under load and could cause them to become inoperative. Therefore, backup all data before following any of the instructions in this Guide. VoiceAI Pty Ltd is not responsible for any loss of data.

Before You Start: Direct Connection to Databridge or Connect via Your Own Database

Before connecting the Power BI template directly to the Databridge database, you may prefer to first connect your own database to the Databridge database and then connect the Power BI template to your own database.

This approach has a number of advantages:

  • Data retention for Data Bridge is 12 months. If you first import the data into your own database, your control how long the data is retained.

  • Once in your own database, connecting other data sources may be easier rather mapping connectors within Power BI.

  • Syncing of data is undertaken in the background between the two databases, leaving Power BI to sync to your database.

Prerequisites

Before deploying the Power BI template, users will require:

  1. A subscription to the Call Journey Speech AI Service (Wordbench)

  2. A subscription to the Call Journey Data Bridge

  3. Power BI Desktop application

  4. The Call Journey Power BI template for the BI Connector which can be downloaded here: https://tmacomms.atlassian.net/wiki/spaces/KB/pages/1652883983

Users are advised to familiarize themselves with the Databridge service, particularly with respect to data security, data field definitions, and data retention periods.

Finally, previous releases of the Power BI reports included Word Clouds. These are not available out-of-the-box in Power BI. The template will still load without the Word Cloud add-in, but the Word Cloud visualizations will report an error.

If you wish to use Word Clouds, then you will need to import the Word Cloud add-in from the Power BI Visuals AppSource. Open the Power BI desktop application and within the Visualizations pane, select “Get more visuals”, then search on “word” to locate the add-in to install it:
